Oyo begins certification of building plans

The Oyo State Government is to commence a statewide certification exercise of building plans in the state in order to ensure that approved structures were in line with the extant planning laws.

The Oyo State Government is to commence a statewide certification exercise of building plans in the state in order to ensure that approved structures were in line with the extant planning laws.

To this end, a taskforce to rid the state of illegal petrol stations and other structures that contravene the extant planning laws of Oyo State will today commence a statewide certification exercise.

In a statement jointly signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Physical Planning and Environment, Waheed Gbadamosi and his Senior Special Assistant on Environment, Tope Obileye, the government urged the public to make ready their approved building plans for certification.

The statement added that structures without approvals would be treated in line with the appropriate sanctions as specified in the statute books.
