A major stride towards stepping up Nigeria’s real estate sector construction activities was recorded last week in Lagos, with the jump-starting of a fresh high-end signature residential development on over an acre site in the heart of Ikoyi.

The project to be known, as Cuddle is being built by Cadwell and located at one of the most prestigious address – Bourdillon Road, comprises 18 floors. It provides a choice of brilliantly designed and proportioned three and four bedroom flats, masionettes on levels two to eight as well as four and six bedroom penthouses carefully arranged on levels 10 to 17 in the east and west wing.

Each level of a typical apartment comprises two units of three and four bedroom flats or masionettes in each wing in varied layouts and designs. At level nine, the structure features a split-level leisure lane where residents will have access to a brasserie, swimming pools with hot tubs, aerobics, yoga, spinning suite as well as a wellness and fitness spa. Executive meeting rooms are additional throw-ins.

Similarly, the residents will have access to a chic spot for dining, bar and cafe that provide fabulous and exclusive setting for cocktails with canapés, while enjoying stunning vistas across Ikoyi’ s iconic skyline. There is also an exclusive private lounge and large screen cinema suite.

Designed by the architectural firms of Pieach and WD; FAA (indoor architects), and other consultants include CCP (structural engineers). GTB Access is the financial partner. Already, the promoters have picked Messrs Trevi Foundation Nigeria Limited to commence piling works on site and the structure will be completed in 36 months.

“Cuddle is well crafted top notch residential development with pre-war finish in a new-classic style, designed with an attitude of elegance to inspire, impress and complement the lifestyle of the savvy and progressive elite,” according to Cadwell Director, Muyiwa Owoturo.

Owoturo who spoke at an exclusive launch and media presentation, said that prospective homeowners and investors alike have the opportunity to posses a unique master piece in Nigeria’s prestigious neighbourhood.

He disclosed that the company has built its first selection suite, which consists of a collection of internal finishing in classic, new classic or modern mood that affords prospective homeowners the privilege to select preferred materials to suit their style, standards, reflect their passion and personality. “In collaboration with some of the finest international and local consultants, your taste and ideas can be reshaped into stunning reality,” he said.

On why the company is embarking on such project at this time of recession, Owoturo said:” We are a courageous organisation and this is a confirmation of our faith on the country and economy.” He added that the project is being funded through banks and off-plan sales.

The Head, Concepts and Marketing, Nekpen Emokpae said that their vision for Cuddle is to create an ultra-high quality dream home for Lagos most designing residents in a way that enhances and uplifts the wider neighbourhood. “It is designed as a real home for relaxation, entertainment, and escape from the city without leaving the city,” she said.

She disclosed that the firm is marketing some property for off-plan sales and 70 per cent of allocated units have been sold.

Under the project, prospective homeowners will pay 30 per cent of the cost of the project while the balance will be spread over 36 months.

“With unmatched attention, keen eyes, skilled hands, Cuddle’s cultural comfort includes but are not limited to sizeable and oversize units of accommodation space with dedicated levels of lifestyle luxuries,” Emokpae added.
