The annual Soundcity MVP Awards took place at the Eko Convention Centre last weekend. The highly anticipated awards festival is an event presented by Soundcity TV, which awards plaques to musicians and entertainers across Africa.

As usual, the venue was crawling with celebrities from all major industries including music, film, TV and radio. At the star-studded event, celebs sparkled on the red carpet and on stage but, as usual, while some came to impress, others fell by the wayside. It is no longer news that Davido took home the most awards on the night.

From Dice Ailes throwing up Naira notes during his Otedola performance to Davido winning African Artiste of the Year, the 2018 show delivered one of the annual celebration’s most unforgettable events so far.

Other celebs spotted include Tiwa Savage, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade, Niniola Apata, Toke Makinwa, Timini Egbuson, Adunni Ade, Skales, Vimbai, Juliet Ibrahim amongst others.

Italian brand Gucci was a hot favourite amongst celebs as big names including Ghanaian singer, Sarkodie and songstress Tiwa Savage, was draped in Gucci from head to toe, which looked a little off. She even had a Supreme pouch on her waist, probably to store her phone. Actress, Adunni Ade’s ‘cat woman suit’ was a let down truly, especially as she is one we look out for on the red carpet because she is usually well dressed. Timini and Bovi looked okay but for the berets they had on their head, a fad that we thought died with 2017.

Juliet Ibrahim was hands down the best dressed celebrity of the night, stunning us with a red, gold embellished glittering Erica Moore gown and styled by Swanky Jerry. Osas Ajibade, Toke Makinwa and some others did not disappoint, as they looked stunning at the award show.

Ajibade wore a layered pink top and skirt set from Moofa with beige pumps while Toke wore a mesh bodycon dress, styled by Harvella. Moet Abebe was a revelation in a figure hugging gold Marvee gown that left us delightfully surprised.
