Africa’s finest showcase the very best at AFDW2017
It was three days of magic and jaw-dropping creativity at the just concluded sixth edition of the African Fashion and Design Week (AFDW) in Lagos. Over 30 leading established and emerging designers from 11 different African countries showcased the very best the continent has to offer and guests and visitors were left asking for more. The designers from all over Africa, dazzled the audience with eclectic designs, rocked by the stunning runway models.
Top Hollywood stylists, Joanna Konjevod and Alka Makwana were the official stylists on ground just as Black Opal was the official makeup partner, showing off latest products and stunning skills.
The theme for this year was “Honour the Masters and Celebrate the New’’As the theme implies, veteran renowned designers were celebrated and paid homage to and new designers with promising potentials were discovered and crowned.
Founder of AFDW and MD of BluePearl Services International, Queengold Daniella Sekibo said she was pleased with this year’s turnout despite several challenges they faced along the way. She promised that the next edition would be even bigger and better.
Designers that showcased at the event include Weizdhurm Franklyn, Agatha Moreno, Lady Biba, Sunny Rose, Nato Design, Rick Dusi and Sonia Jerry.
Others include Nallem Clothing, Nato Design House, Romeo Paul, Afri-Ken By Nana, Black Billionaire, Firm Roksana By Miedor Eporwei and host of others.
