SurulereFOLLOWING the success of The Meeting, the award winning film production and distribution company, The Audrey Silva Company, founded by Mildred Okwo and Rita Dominic, has embarked on a new movie project, titled, Surulere, scheduled for release later in the year.

According to Okwo, the movie’s predominant themes are patience, fate and the promise of love. “We have been developing this for a few months now, so, it’s great to finally get going. An exciting thing about Surulere is the cast I’m working with, as we have a predominantly young cast of very talented actors.”

She add, “when we started the company years back, one of the things we set out to do was to give talented, fresh and vibrant actors a chance. We did that with The Meeting, and we are more than delighted with the quality of great actors in Surulere, and are positive that Nigerian movie lovers all around the world will be thrilled,”

The cast include, Seun Ajayi, Beverly Naya, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Linda Ejiofor, Tope Tedela, Enyinna Nwigwe and Bikiya Graham Douglas.

Set in Lagos, Surulere, focuses on Arinze (Ajayi) as an insignificant graduate trainee in a fictional agency, a serial debtor and a desperate young man eager to get ahead.

“It is a story everyone will relate to. We all come across frustrating hurdles and distractions in the form of a mean boss, Lagos traffic, a nagging wife or landlord and Surulere covers some of these aspects,” said executive producer, Dominic, who also makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

Developed, produced and directed by Okwo, the movie is written by Richard Odilu for the Audrey Silva Company.
