This year’s Indomie Spelling Bee Grand Finale would hold on Wednesday, May 2 at NECA Hall, Central Business District, Alausa area of Ikeja, Lagos.

The competition would have representation from 13 states at the national finals- Plateau, Ekiti, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, Benue, Delta, Bayelsa, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). All state qualifiers/representatives would be arriving for the four-day national camp in Lagos from April 29 to May 3.

The competition is designed for students between the ages of eight and 13 to inculcate the basic imperatives of effective communication, ultimately impacting improved spelling skills,Fdevelopment of poise, increase students’ vocabulary, pronunciation and accurate word usage.

As franchise holders of Scripps National Spelling Bee (US), the programme emphasises the importance of communication, because being erudite begins with communication, and communication entails the transaction of ideas, using words and symbols, as a fundamental platform.

The winner would enjoy an all-expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC, USA as a guest, plus a scholarship fund, whilst the 2nd and 3rd place runners-up get scholarship funds and sponsors products.
