Bigwigs grace Awoyinfa’s son’s wedding in Abuja
For those who were at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, venue of the wedding reception of Kehinde Awoyinfa, son of Nigeria’s tabloid journalism king, Mike Awoyinfa, and his bride, Temitope, daughter of Elijah Kayode-Ojo, an Abuja-based businessman, it was one talk-of-the-town wedding fit for the royals.
It attracted captains of industry and the cream of the Nigerian media, with more than enough to eat and drink for a party that lasted late in the night. On the bandstand, the Sugar Band dished out old and new school music, supported by a disc jockey, who set the dance floor on fire with the latest Nigerian pop music.
It was interesting to see Mike, dressed in regalia, dancing with his wife, Bukola. He said: “This is my happiest day, a day I will never forget. It is the beginning of my journey to grandfatherhood. “I bless God for making me to see this day. How I wish my late ‘twin brother,’ Dimgba Igwe, is here. But God knows best. He is watching it all from heaven.”
