Bose Adedibu

Bose Adedibu, widow of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, seems to have put behind the shackles of her life and has started bubbling with life again.

Bose was spotted a few days back at Tina Ogundoyin’s son’s wedding in Lagos. So lively was she, as she danced to the admiration of many at the ceremony.

While her husband was alive, she had the sweetest experience of the world and knew what it is to be the hearthrob of the political godfather. She understood what it is to be courted by the lowly-placed, the high and mighty, seeking favours from her husband.

But soon after her husband died, Bose started tasting the bitter pill of betrayal. In friendship, she found coldness, and in trust, she found treason.

It appears her whole world had come crashing down like a giant iceberg, and the reasons were not far-fetched, as soon after the remains of her powerful husband were lowered into the grave, his friends and political associates began to desert his political empire and family.

The situation has since forced Bose to shun social and political associates, particularly those her husband assisted when he was alive, who turned their backs on the family. But such dismal happenstance is now a thing of the past. Today, Bose enjoys a fresh lease of life.

She is no longer a morose and disillusioned widow of a former ‘garrison commander’ and politician. She has picked up the pieces of her life and moved on.
