Bimpe Onakoya to headline show at NYFW

For the first time ever, a Nigerian makeup artist will be headlining a show at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). And nobody is more fit for the job than Maybelline New York Nigeria’s Artistic Director, Bimpe Onakoya.

For the first time ever, a Nigerian makeup artist will be headlining a show at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). And nobody is more fit for the job than Maybelline New York Nigeria’s Artistic Director, Bimpe Onakoya.

The award-winning makeup artist, who is popularly known for creating exquisite looks for the runway, brides, editorial shoots and celebrities, started her journey at the NYFW scene four years ago. During this period she was able to create looks for fashion labels such as Jason Wu, Mara Hoffman, Suno, Marissa Webb, DKNY, Lacoste, Philipp Plein, J Mendel, Cushnie et Ochs and more. She also worked with famous models like Alek Wek, Jourdan Dunn, and Herieth Paul.

This year she will be headlining and creating looks for Laquan Smith, a New York-based women’s luxury wears fashion designer that has dressed the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and many other stylish female celebrities. She will also be the key makeup artist for the Rochambeau presentation and will be glamming up Adriana Lima.
