Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has appointed the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, as Chairman, Task Force for the implementation of the state Anti-Community Development Association Law.

Obaseki, who disclosed this at the signing of the Bill into law at Government House, Benin City, the state capital, noted that the task force was constituted to drive the enforcement of the law and supervise all matters related to the law, urging the state Chief Judge and security agencies to support the implementation of the law.

Arase, who has been keeping away from public glare, got the juicy job following the activities at his law firm, Solomon Arase & Associates, which commenced operation in November after his retirement in July last year.

Arase would not be easily forgotten in the Police Force, as his enviable tact, humility, diplomacy and knowledge of statecraft put him in his own world as uncommon super cop.
