Glo Mega Music Tour: Flavour, KOK held fans bound in ‘collabo’ at Awka

Nabania crooner, Flavour, over the weekend brought down the roof as the telecom service provider, Globacom’s sponsored Mega Music Nationwide Tour, held in the city of Aba, Abia State, on Saturday night.

The Ada Ada singer was among the array of musical stars that invaded the commercial conurbation in the east of the Niger with their music. Other artistes on parade on the night include, Omawumi; dancehall master, Runtown; Igbo ethno-rapper, Phyno; the self-proclaimed voice of the streets, Olamide, aka Badoosneh.

Held at the Eldorado Event Centre on Aba-Owerri Road, Glo in bid to encourage budding artistes made room for local and upcoming acts in the city to be part of the music fest.

The venue which was filled to capacity erupted in ecstasy to Flavour’s performance and the excitement rose to a crescendo, when the Nollywood star, Kanayo O Kanayo (KOK), was invited on stage by Uche Jombo and Juliet Ibrahim, who were anchors of the show.

KOK, a lead character in the TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by telecom company, came on stage and sang the theme song of the TV series, which was written by Flavour. The extempore collabo brought the audience to its feet.

Other artistes that performed on the night also made a good showing of themselves. Runtown lived up to his rating as one of Nigeria’s wave-making singer with his dancehall hits. His well-accepted Mad Over You, got the crowd to be mad over him.

Phyno, taking his his turn, gave the audience something to remember with his many hit songs including Fada Fada, which he did in collaboration Olamide, while the audience dance away for over one hour.

Then enter Omawumi the Kokoma lady, who added a softer touch to the night of fun. She danced with grace and elegance, serenading the audience with her sweet melodies.

Speaking at the at the beginning of the show, Globacom’s Zonal Business Coordinator, South-East, Lorenzo Gomez, said “the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour is specially designed to celebrate and reward Glo’s loyal subscribers.”

Due to overflow, the telecom giant mounted an LED screen outside the Eldorado Event Centre to accommodate the surging crowd who could not get even standing space in the hall.

The music tour moves to Calabar this weekend. Subscribers, who want to attend the show, the organisers said, should text MUSIC and name of preferred location. For instance, MUSIC CALABAR to 207.
