In continuation of its Mega Music Nationwide Tour, telecom service provider, Globacom have stormed Enugu with 12 artistes, made up of seven top of the range musicians and five Nollywood icons, for the flagship show, where residents of the city will be treated to uncommon funtainment today.

The show, which is designed to entertain subscribers of the network across 27 cities and locations within the country, kicked off in Awka, Anambra State capital, on April 15, 2017.

Coincidentally, three of the musicians, who will be on parade, grew up in coal city. This includes, Runtown, Phyno and Flavour. They also developed their music careers there and are regarded purely as  ‘042’ boys, a term used to refer to artistes who grew up and started their musical journey in Enugu, which in the yore days of analog telephony, had the code, 042.

The A-list musicians billed to perform at the show scheduled for 4.00 p.m., includes Korede Bello, Runtown, Tuface, Timaya, Phyno, Flavour and Olamide. Ebube Nwagbo and Uche Jombo will anchor the show, while three other Nollywood icons, Angela Okorie, Patience Ozokwor, a.k.a. Mama G, and Richard Mofe-Damijo, will make celebrity guest appearances to spice up the fun at the Golden Royal Hotel, Enugu, venue of the show.

According to a statement from the company, “Enugu show is loaded and we are hopeful that our esteemed subscribers who will be thronging the venue of the show will have adequate value for their time.”

“Enugu is very strategic to the Glo business and these artistes are ready in all ramifications to give all the people coming for the show world-class entertainment. Incidentally, three of the artistes, Runtown, Phyno and Flavour, had their formative years in the city. For their fans in the city and beyond, the show affords them the rare opportunity of touching base with their icons”, the statement also read.

Speaking about the show, Flavour said, “I am very excited to go to Enugu. This is like going back to my roots and I cannot wait to see not only my fans in the city but those old folks we grew up together in Enugu. It is going to be a show like never before for all of us.”

Runtown and Phyno who spoke separately on what their fans should expect at the show declared that they had been looking forward to the show since the bookings were confirmed as it would be a home-coming venture for them.

The Mega Music Nationwide Tour is designed by Globacom to reward its subscribers across the country for their loyalty to the Glo brand over the years. Though free, anyone attending and subscribers of the telecom brand must have to use an airtime worth N2,000 for data or voice calls within a month. They are expected to send a text message ‘MUSIC ENUGU’ to a short code 207 and they will get a  free invite.
