Ace broadcaster, Femi Sowolu, hits airwaves with new radio station

Veteran broadcaster, Femi Sowolu, has hit the Nigeria’s airwaves with a bang, with a new radio station called Jamz FM, which was recently launched in the ancient city of Ibadan.

It will be transmitting on the Frequency Modulation 100.1 bandwidth. In line with its tagline, ‘Real Radio, Real People,’ Jamz FM 100.1FM is set to redefine radio broadcasting in Ibadan by giving listeners a new experience in broadcasting through its well thought out programming, which is a balanced blend of entertainment through music, news, sports and interactive phone-in shows.

As part of the activities for the launch of the radio station, selected celebrities, including leading music stars, such as Reminisce, 9ice, YCEE, and leading Nollywood stars, Olaniyi Afonja (Sanyeri) and Aisha Abimbola (Omoge Campus) were on hand on air for several hours.

Located in Felele area of Ibadan, the radio station, owned by Abraham & Isaac Limited and led by Femi, is fast becoming the toast of radio lovers in Ibadan and its environ.

Speaking on the vision of Jamz 100.1 FM, Femi, who is its managing director, explained that the station aims to become the most adored broadcast medium in the entire Southwest within the shortest possible time.

“We aimed at positioning Jamz100.1 FM as the go-to music, entertainment, and lifestyle companion for individuals and businesses, with the vision to be a youthful, culturally-inclined radio station that seeks to create a lasting relationship through music and entertainment,” he said.

He stated further that it is a developmental station with the objective to bring social information, news and public affairs to the mainstream, while operating within the purview of the law and ethical standards.

“We bring to the listeners a unique, refreshing radio experience. Our programming and style of presentation is breezy, yet informative, factual and designed to appeal to a wide listening audience made up of both primary and overflowing targets- young, youthful and young at heart,” he added.
