The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him or her, says the Bible. For many dads, whose daughters attain academic excellence and cap it with getting married to their sweethearts, it is usually hard to find the right words to express the depths of their feelings.

For respected physician, Dr. Innocent Chi Ekwem, Founder and Chief Medical Director of Ebony Hospitals Limited in Rumuola, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Saturday April 14 was a memorable letter day, as he hosted crème de la crème of Nigeria’s high society to a splendid time when his London-based adorable medical doctor daughter, Dr. Yvonne Ezinne Ekwem, united in a fairytale wedding with her beau, Trevor Okechukwu Okonya, who is also based in London.

The wedding day proceedings had begun when the couple made their way separately to the historic Mater Misericordiae Catholic Church, Rumumasi, Port Harcourt, where they had exchanged vows before hundreds of privileged guests.

The guests were soaked in the pageantry of the highly anticipated union officiated by Archbishop Anthony Obinna of Owerri Ecclesiastical Providence; Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma of Orlu Diocese; Most Rev Gregory Ochiagha; and Rev. Fr. (Professor) Paully Odozor of University of Notra Dame in South Bend Indiana, United States, who represented John Cardinal Onaiyekan.
