Nollywood producer and director, Humphrey Ojonugwa Ottuh, popularly known as Humjo, is ready to offer two motion picture projects with his signature for public viewing, and he has promised television viewers and movie goers exciting times.

The works, a television series, titled, Tuki, and a movie, A Night With My Son, are due for release soon.

The Kogi State native, who revealled that he came into the industry as an actor, but was mentored in the area of production by the longstanding actor, producer and director, Ernest Obi, also stated that both works feature very talented actors and a brilliant crew, who put in their all to ensure that viewers have nothing less than an exciting time with the series and movie.

Speaking on how he was able to raise funds for the projects, Humjo, who urged the present administration to do more for the industry than it is doing at present, stated that in most cases, he works with executive producers who fund their movies, while in other instances, he raises funds for the projects.

He urged government to invest heavily in the sector and implement fully, the policy that makes it mandatory for radio and television stations to broadcast more local content than foreign.

On recent trends in the industry, Humjo said stardom and cultural values are all intertwined; hence upcoming acts’ craving to be celebrities at all cost. He, however, added that they must respect the values and norms of indigenous culture.

He took a swipe at actresses willing to act nude roles, insisting that extreme intimate love roles and nudity are not part of our culture; hence Nigerians waiting to see a nude film from Nollywood would have to wait for a long time to come, saying: “We are a well cultured nation and there are things we don’t do with our body publicly.”

Asked if he is fulfilled as an entertainer, Humjo said: “I am living my dream as a director. I feel fulfilled. Directing gives me more joy and satisfaction. I am happy with what I am doing.”
