Following the announcement that he no longer has a contract with music company, Chocolate City, Oleku singer, Panshak Zamani well known by the moniker Ice Prince, has floated his own record label called Super Cool Cat.

The rapper in an interview on 96.9 Cool FM’s ‘Midday Oasis’ show with Dotun and Temi, revealed that he is no longer signed to Chocolate City, and that his third solo album titled, Jos to the World, will be released under his new imprint. His new single Chike, which featured Supreme Mavin Record star, Korede Bello, song art bore the blue logo of the Super Cool Cat label.

The Aboki and VIP crooner made it clear that his contract with the label expired two years ago but due to his personal relationship with the label owners, decided not to make it public. He however, made it clear that he still has some working relationship with them. During the period, he removed the every public link between him and Chocolate City, wiping their signage off his social media handles, and also off his press releases.

It would be recalled that the J-town born rapper was signed to Chocolate City in 2010 and he grew under the label to become one of Africa’s most recognised rappers. The relationship spawned two albums, with countless hit singles.

By virtue of his announcement, Ice Prince became the third act to announce departure from Chocolate City in the past six months, after the earlier departure of Kahli Abdu and VHS Safari, and Milli.

Weekend Beat gathered the rapper already has artistes signed to his Super Cool Cat label, and will officially unveil them next week. His third studio album titled Jos to the World, follows Everybody Loves Ice Prince (2011) and Fire of Zamani (2013), which met harsh reviews from critics and music analysts alike, but that didn’t discourage from firing on to his next body of work, which would in the new album.

The rapper who is excited about the new project has since shared the development via his Instagram page, where he is seen with the likes of DJ Spinall, Yung L, Ladi Poe
