IN a bid to fulfill its brand promise of delivering happiness and independence to its esteemed consumers, Wandel International (Nigeria) Limited, a subsidiary of the Simba Group of Companies and the authorised marketers and distributors of Luminous brands in Nigeria is empowering technicians and installers across Nigeria through its Luminous Technician Training Programme.

The training programme is an initiative designed to create, train and empower electricians and technicians in the field of energy conservation. The programme is also designed to equip them with the specific understanding of Inverters, UPS and Batteries and how these alternate energy products can improve the power back up, life and of their customers, which in turn opens up an altogether new area of entrepreneurship for them.

The technicians are also trained on the product components, installations and customer service. The training programme, which commenced in April this year, will take place in major towns and cities across the country.

According to the Marketing Manager, Wandel International Nigeria Limited, Mr. Rajneesh Gupta, the Luminous Technician Training Programme is a Pan Nigeria project expected to hold across all 36 states in the country with the aim of empowering electricians, engineers and technicians on installation and management of Luminous Inverters, Batteries and UPS.

Gupta explained that the whole idea of the project is to create more awareness for the product and at the same time create new entrepreneurs to deal with the peculiarities associated with the products thus the huge investment in the training initiative.

“As the market leader and the most preferred brand of Inverters, UPS and Batteries in Nigeria, Wandel is committed to ensuring that our high quality products are backed by a premium service, hence the need to create a pool of well trained technicians to provide quality service for customers,” he said.

He further stated that the training was first introduced last year November and has been accelerated within the last 6 months covering key locations in Nigeria such as Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Minna, Suleja, Warri, Benin, Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt and Yola.

Also commenting on the initiative, the Chief Technical Instructor, Simba Group, Mr. Napoleon Idisi stated that the training programme serves as a remarkable platform for technicians/installers to empower themselves and gain the required Technical-Know-How about the installations and repair of Luminous Inverters, Batteries and UPS.
