For music educator, record producer, writer and showbiz entrepreneur, Akapo Emmanuel music is a community service. The founder of Tenstring Music Institute, a music academy with multiple centers in Nigeria, has worked with notable Nigerian artistes including Sound Sultan Eva Alordiah, Brymo, and Bez among artistes.

According to the Public Administration graduate, he started his music institute 10 years ago, adding that he learnt to play musical instruments at the age of 16, and since then he had been able to carve a niche for himself in the music industry.

“We run four centres now and before the end of March 2017, we would have completed our Port Harcourt and Abuja centres respectively. We hope to have 10 centres in Nigeria by December 1, 2017. We have students from different African countries coming to learn music at Tenstrings. I am a goal-getter and believe no is not an answer when it comes to pursuing your dreams. I play six musical instruments very well and I love what I do,” said Akapo.

With series of trainings, the multi instrumentalist said he developed himself to become a master of musical instruments. He explained that he began his music education career in Lagos in 2001 by picking up appointments as a part-time music instructor with a number of schools. He has several music training materials to his credit.

The Lagos born music instructor, who was recently made the president of a magazine known as The Lagosian, said the new responsibility is an opportunity to prove to the world that he is a creative person and have what it takes to change the entire landscape of Africa and the world at large.

“The media is a great avenue to let people know what is happening. I believe that I can’t get it wrong in entertainment. The Lagosian is a brand I would like to work with because I believe it will make me think outside the box and add value. As a proud citizen of Lagos State, it is an honour to lead the team running this great brand. I am from Ikorodu and hope to take this magazine to greater heights,” he stated.
