Last week, the contestants in the on going MTN Project fame West Africa put up a great show, as they treated viewers to beautiful rock ‘n’ roll performances. In the end, the power to retain the best singers in the competition was still put in the hands of West Africa.

The viewers made their decision as they voted; hence West Africa’s votes saved seven contestants except Gabriel, Oluchi, Steve, Dapo, and Winner. Just before the names of these contestants with the least number of viewers’ votes were revealed, all the contestants delivered another impressive group performance.

Accepting their fate, Oluchi, Gabriel, Dapo, Winner, and Steve then sang passionately again in a bid to secure their spots in the competition. After all was said and done, the Judges saved Winner, Faculty saved Dapo and the contestants saved Oluchi, hence Gabriel and Steve’s sojourn in the competition came to an end.

What was going to be a night of best street songs took another turn when Falz aka Falz The Bahd Guy made an unexpected appearance on stage, disrupting Joseph and Bolanle!

The remaining ten contestants moved the audience from the point of bobbing their heads to going on dancing spree with five star performances. The excitement after each contestant’s performance was taken a notch higher with Falz’ hilarious comments. In addition, Emeka aka Emekus (a Season 7 finalist) also lighted up the stage as he performed his latest single titled Jehova Witness.

Meanwhile, in line with its commitment to supporting Nigerian musicians by providing alternative platforms through which they can receive lucrative value for their intellectual property, MTN has announced brand ambassadors for 2016-2017.

According to MTN’s General Manager Consumer Marketing, Richard Iweanoge, this is designed to enable the company continue to support the development of the entertainment industry by financially empowering Nigerian artistes and musicians through the promotion and monetisation of content on its various digital platforms – MTN Music+, Caller Ring Back Tunes (CRBT) and Value Added Services (VAS).

The list include Praiz; Iyanya, Chidinma, Falz, Tekno Miles and Skales. Others are Hafiz Oyetoro, Nedu, Nkem Owoh and Adamu Zango.
