Qtaby Events and CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition 2017, aimed at promoting excellence and healthy competitive spirit amongst primary and secondary school students is set to commence.

Qtaby Events and CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition 2017, aimed at promoting excellence and healthy competitive spirit amongst primary and secondary school students is set to commence.

The competition, organised by Qtaby Events, an international events production and entertainment company, in collaboration with CLB Academy, a subsidiary of Centre for Law and Business (CLB), the primary objective is to aid students’ knowledge by cultivating a healthy reading habit, as it encourages them to improve on their vocabulary and spelling prowess.

Speaking about the event at a press conference held at the CLB, Victoria Island, Lagos, Bunmi Omeke explained that the categories for the competition include: primary, junior secondary and senior secondary school.

According to her, the preliminary stages of the competition will hold at the CLB on November 18, 25 and December 2 respectively, while the grand finale will take place at The Landmark Event Centre Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

“The Grand Finale will feature nine finalists, who will compete against one another from all categories. The winners will be rewarded with N500, 000, N250, 000 and N150, 000 respectively in scholarships as well as cash prizes and gift items from partners,” she said.

Chief Executive Officer, Qtaby Events, Victoria Nkong added that the competition, will bring together some of the most intelligent children in the country, showcasing the nation’s future leaders.

Registration is N5, 000 for all categories and it is open to all schools; it closes on Friday, November 10. Jury for the competition include personalities and intellectuals from various fields such as Chief Executive, Leading Learning Limited, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, Principal, Greenwood House Schools, Ikoyi, Mr. Ronald Cilliers, and Founder, Aunt Landa Bethel Foundation, Dr. Yolanda George–David among others.
