After years of working behind the scene, young entrepreneur, Adetola Juyitan, has finally opened her new event center, Glitz Occassions & Event. Located in Lekki, Lagos, the formal opening of the upscale centre, which started with a special red carpet reception, turned into a mini show, with notable entertainers on hand to thrill guests.

The launch played host to crème-de-la-crème of the society, celebrities, top executives in the banking sector, humanitarian/service organisations, clergy men, Nollywood and comedians, who took turns on stage to entertain guests.

Aside from host Senator, who spiced the evening with jaw breaking jokes, other entertainers on parade include Funny Bone, Mimicko, Dan D’ Humorous, CK and Jessey Jagz of Chocolate City, Nosa, as well as Jaywon, who headlined the show.

A spectacular event centre with an edge, Glitz delivers the industry’s finest level of expertise to small, medium and large organisations, specialist groups and discerning individuals, who desire the perfect venue for weddings, social and corporate events. It comprises two stunning ultra-modern marquees equipped with central air conditioning systems, well-furnished VIP suites/changing rooms, standard performance stage and entertainment technology systems. Other facilities include glamorous lights such as mood lights, disco balls and computerised moving head lights, projectors and digital video projection screens, 5-star restrooms, silent standby generators, car park attendants and ample car parking space for about 200 vehicles.

In a chat with Juyitan, the former branch manager of a Lagos-based commercial bank described the formal opening of the centre as a dream come true.

“Well, this came from a place of passion; I’ve carried this dream for about 10 years. So, I’ve worked of the business plan every year, every step of the way. It was a dream and I tried to keep at it. Thankfully, this is where we are today,” she enthused.

On her decision to quit banking, she explained, “I’ve been a banker for 14 years and in the two banks that I’ve worked, I’ve worked with them to plan every event that the banks have had; that has given me some sort of experience and exposure that would help in handling this business. Absolutely, I’m done with banking, so, when the idea of where to go next came up, by default, it had to be this. This has always been my second life besides banking,” she said.
