Last Sunday night, inside the cavernous Eko Hotel Convention Centre, two youngsters started their journey into the glamorous world of international fashion and modeling, as they won the 10th Edition of the Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria contest.

Stephen Aladenika, a 200 level student of Public Administration at Lagos State University, won the male category and will represent Nigeria at the Elite Model Contest International later in the year. Tobi Momoh beat other nine finalists to win in the female category. They both received a cash prize of N1m from the sponsor, Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc makers of Aquafina table water.

It was a night of glitz and glamour as several celebrities and fashionistas graced the event. After nearly two hours of strutting on the runway, the judges made up of former Miss World, Agbani Darego, Norden Thurston of Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc and Veronica Odeka, picked Stephen and Tobi as winners.

Stephen was very theatrical and collapsed in a heap when he was announced winner. He was helped to his feet with tears of joy streaming down his face.

Last year’s winners Davidson Obennebo and Omoh Momoh were on ground to recount their experiences and encourage the contestants. In fact, Davidson won the World Contest in 2016, becoming the first African to win the Elite Model Look international contest.
