OJB-2-MUSIC producer, Babatunde Okungbowa, popularly known as OJB Jezreel, has teamed up with the Bowtie Club with support from some well-meaning institutions to launch a Kidney Trust Fund with the sole aim of raising funds towards assisting those suffering from kidney problems who want to get treatment abroad.

Weekend Beat gathered the initiative aims to raise over N200m solely for the purpose of providing medical succour to Nigerians who are suffering from kidney ailments. Also, the Foundation will provide patients with a five-year projection in which the initiative is believed to be in a position to build a local facility with modern equipment to render transplant and other associated services to Nigerians according to acceptable international standards.

It would be recalled that in 2013, the Shitta Anthem crooner and producer, suffered a severe kidney failure but got support which enabled him travel to India for a transplant.

He was part of history makers recently when Nigeria pop icon, 2face Idibia re-issued his classic debut album Face2Face in a release party titled Triple Threat Tour, which was supported by Kennis Music in collaboration with Hypertek Digital to celebrate a decade of the album.

The excited legendry producer, who re-mastered the album to updated standard, said he was happy he was part of it. “I’m happy to be at 2face’s triple threat tour, basically to revisit the importance of an album that made history ten years ago. I feel elated and honoured to be part of an album that re-shaped not only the music industry in Nigeria, but took Nigeria to the map in Africa and also affect the African market itself. To be part of that success and still be alive ten years after, I am more than blessed in 2015,” OJB said.
