Rapper, Reminisce has held a listening session for his fourth album title El Hadj, which is set to drop August 29. The listening gig took place at Lotus Pattaya, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Hosted by VJ Ehiz of MTV Base, the event saw music industry stakeholders, journalists, on-air personalities (OAPs) and fans of the rapper came out to support the rapper.

DJs Spinall, Neptune, Jimmy Jatt, Humility, and OAP Osi Suave, as well as celebrity stylist and image consultant, Zed-Eye among others were in attendance to support the self proclaimed ‘Alaga Ibile’.

The rapper previewed all 16 tracks from the album for listening with acts like Mr. Eazi, Solidstar, Olamide, 9ice, 2baba, Oladips and Sojay al featured on the album. Reminisce explained the concept behind each track and gave the reason behind the album title, saying it had to do with the religious pilgrimage Hajj, which he initially planned to go for this year but had to move it to next year, 2017.

The ‘Asalamalekun’ rapper recently parted ways with his management Edge Records owing to irreconcilable differences. El Hadj is his fourth album, a follow up to ‘Baba Hafusa’, which was released last year, ‘Alaga Ibile’ (2013) and ‘Book of Rap Stories’, released in 2012.

According to reports, the rapper who is also known as Baba Hafusa, fired his manager, Ibrahim Okulaja, just few days to the release of his studio album. The development surprised many as Okulaja had put in great work into the creative process of the album.

Speaking on the issue, Okulaja said he was surprised to get the termination letter and decided to put it out because he doesn’t want speculations. “I won’t say there are no issues, because like in every business, there are disagreements on directions, and some eventually get solved, while some don’t.”
