Shuga Releases Married Today Video

THE year 2014, no doubt was a good year for Akin Tofowomo popularly known as Shuga and the Shuga band, as the band played in all the major events and weddings within and outside Nigeria. 

     Toward the tail-end of last year, Shuga released the hugely popular wedding song, Married Today. The celebrated singer has followed up with a video, which he has released this January.  

     The video shoot atmosphere could best be described as wedding-like, as actress Bhaira (Bayray) McNwizu got married to fast rising actor, Femi Jacobs in a mock wedding, while comedian, Tee-A was the compere of the reception.

    MC Abbey, Princess and a host of other celebrities also guest-starred in the video which was shot by Filmboys, the directors behind Waje’s No be You.

    “Despite the very danceable beat and feel of the song, Married Today is a song that talks about marriage from the starting-point of wedding. It wouldn’t have done the song any form of justice if the video wasn’t about proper wedding,” Shuga said. 

    He added, “We expended a lot of energy, goodwill and resource to create the wedding atmosphere and the icing on the cake is getting two proper actors to play the role of groom and bride. A real wedding couldn’t have been better than what we did and the most fitting song for any wedding right now is Married Today.”
