Vector Tha Viper Thrills Fans At Airtel/Trace Music Star Grand Finale

SELF-ACCLAIMED Nigeria’s king of rap, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, also known as Vector Tha Viper, at the grand finale of the Airtel/Trace Music Star competition thrilled his fans to a mega performance. The event which was the wrap up of the tour, he started last year for the Airtel/Trace Music Star competition in Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Abuja had lyricist perform songs from his previous albums as well as his newly released King Kong.

    Speaking to Weekend Beat at the event, Vector said, “it’s great to be finally wrapping up this campaign. I am excited at the opportunity to once again, thrill my fans to great music, and also, at the fact that a new music star will emerge tonight.”

    From King Kong to Shiga and Angeli, Vector, as a maestro of words, kept up to his reputation as Africa’s king of rap as he gave his many fans a night not to forget in a hurry. 

    The event, which held at the Marquee Oceanview on Saturday February 28, had five finalists compete for the ultimate prize and with one of them emerging as winner.

      The award-winning rapper has released two studio albums, his debut album State of Surprise (SOS) and The Second Coming. He won ‘Lyricist On The Roll’ and ‘Best Rap Single’ at the 2012 Headies, ‘Best Rap Act’ at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) and several others. 

    He is the voice behind the Sprite commercial that has aired on most radio stations across Nigeria since 2009. He is also an ambassador for Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Vitafoam.
