Another Christmas is here again and we all know it is a season of giving and receiving gifts. Despite the economic crunch in the country, the recession and so many other issues a lot of people are grappling with, we should still try to make the loved ones in our lives feel happy and loved this season by gifting them something special.

However, truth is, we often get stuck on ideas of what to give and after buying, we keep wondering if we had chosen the right gift and if the receiver would love it. It’s important to note that when giving someone a gift, you don’t have to spend a fortune to impress the receiver as the sincerity and thoughtfulness behind the gift item is what matters.

To help you in selecting what gift to give this season, we have broken down your friends and families into four categories and what to give each person in each category. Now, this is just a guide and there is no limit to what you can give anyone, provided the money is available.

Category One: Your Spouse
There are so many options possible to give as gift from jewellery to nice clothes, sexy lingerie, perfumes, shoes, bags, wallets, sophisticated kitchen equipment to help with the cooking, car, artwork (a drawing of your spouse), camera, laptop, Smartphone or even great books. The country is very stressful so a spa weekend or romantic getaway out of the country should be on the list. Think of something he/she has always wanted all year and get it for them.

Category Two: Kids
Kids are easy to please so it is not always too difficult to pick an item for them. Bicycles, games and consoles, phones, tablets (there are ranges of educational tablets to pick from) and toys are fantastic ideas. If you have teens, a Bluetooth music hat would be a wonderful surprise for them. Christmas clothes and shoes shouldn’t be forgotten either.

Category Three: Parents
If your parents stay in the village or in another city, a visit would be a wonderful present for them. Send them gifts, things they need or things you think would be useful for them. They won’t be around forever, so make them feel appreciated as much as you can.

Category Four: Friends and Colleagues
Friends help us get through tough times and provide companionship and it would be nice to make them feel loved this season. Gift items for friends can include tickets to a show/concert/movie, gadgets, chocolates, wines, assorted biscuits, picture frames and hampers. There are so many shows and concerts this season, cop a ticket or two for you and a friend. There are no limits to items to get a friend really, it can even be as little as a key holder, it is the thought that counts.
