Precious Okuchukwu, though a TV presenter, is living her passion playing gospel music. The native of Obollo in Udenu Local Council of Enugu State revealed that her love for music could be traced to her childhood days.

“While growing up, I had passion for music. From the age of 12 when I joined the Catholic Charismatic Renewal until I came to Lagos after my secondary school in 2002 and joined the choir, I recorded three albums for my ministry then and in 2008, my first personal album Ekwela Ihere Meem. After that I recorded other four albums and four singles. I was called to work in the Lord’s vineyard at a very tender age, which led my focus on gospel music.

“My latest album is titled Healing Worship because it is basically a medley of gospel songs that heals the body and soul of the listener. We are putting finishing touches for its release and awaiting the testimony that will come from listeners. I also dropped another gospel rock single titled Nara Ekele. Again, by the leading of God as Minister-in-Songs, the Lord told me to be organising a monthly Praise Concert, “Waves of Glory” with my friends to win souls into different churches and ministries,” she said.

We have been doing this for the past eight months. It has featured top and upcoming gospel artistes, including gospel acts like Mike Abdul of the Midnight Crew, Monique, Esther Igbekele, Adebukola Alore, Jasperazzi, Lucky Star, Saxophonist Mike Oketayo, Tunji Praise and many others.

“The concert is usually anchored by Nollywood stars Vincent Opurum, comedians Talk-talk Osigiator and Heart Tailor,” she disclosed. Speaking about her TV programme, she said: “My television programme Ndi Amama is an Igbo celebrity magazine show on Africa Magic Igbo. I invite celebrities of Igbo extraction on the show to speak Igbo language and give my viewers the opportunity to see their favourite celebrities respond to questions about their lifestyles in Igbo language. The programme has been running for two years now. Prior to that, I had presented Uwa Ndi Ejije on Kpanpando TV showing then on Infinity TV Cable for a year and later on HiTv for two years.”

Okuchukwu observed that the Nigeria entertainment industry has been blessed with massive growth and innovations and could compete with that of the western world.

“Today Nigerian entertainers are respected and held in high esteem across the globe. I appreciate my fans and solicit for their prayers to win souls into God’s Kingdom, which is my utmost desire in life,” said.
