Stars thrill, as Airtel smart trybe returns

The Vapors Lounge, Ikoyi, Lagos, was the place to be recently, as Telecommunication Company, Airtel Nigeria, re-launched its Smart Trybe, an offering targeted at youths in Nigeria.

Spiced with musical performances, the evening saw the likes of Phyno, Patoranking, both Brand Ambassadors for leading telecoms operator, thrill the audience to the best of their recordings. Shortly before the duo took to the stage, One Mic Star, Acetune including Nonso Bassey, Chike and Brenda, who are among the finalists from the widely watched music talent hunt show, The Voice Nigeria, had set the tone for the evening with their gig.

The guest comprised mainly of youths had a wonderful time, as they engaged in karaoke competition and enjoyed the refreshments made available to everyone. In the Karaoke contest, a guest won airtime N10, 000.00, while others won exciting gifts at the event that had the company’s Vice President, Brands & Advertising, Enitan Denloye; Senior Manager, Brand Management, Oluwaseun Adaramola; Communications Manager, Erhumu Bayagbon, Head, Youth Segment and Omoyeme Effiongwere.

Customers on the network, who subscribe for the Smart Trybe by dialling *312# get special rate of 11k/sec to all networks in Nigeria. The product comes in three variants: Trybe Special Data, Trybe Night Browsing and Trybe Weekend variants.With only N500, the ‘Trybe Special Data’ offers 1GB data valid for 7 days. N25 on the ‘Trybe Night Browsing’ gives 500MB forbrowsing between 12am – 5am, while N50 on same package gives 1.5GB for browsing between 12am – 5am. With N200, the Trybe weekend offers 250MB as well as 30 minutes free call to Airtel numbers.

Through the re-launch of the youth-centric product, the telco has restated its strong commitment to offer pocket-friendly call and data rates to Nigerian youths.
