Zoro, Raw, Humblesmith, Naeto C Rocked Enugu Fans at Yudala Coalfest Zero Gravity Concert

It was an unprecedented turnout in Enugu, as entertainment lovers trooped to the Michael Okpara Square, on Independence Layout, venue of the Yudala Coalfest Zero Gravity Concert.
The event returns to Lagos this Sunday, with a Rock Gospel Concert at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island by 3pm, featuring Chioma Jesus, Sammie Okposo, Frank Edward, Tope Alabi, Buchi, Sola Allyson, Chinyere Udoma, and Joe Praise among others.

It was an unprecedented turnout in Enugu, as entertainment lovers trooped to the Michael Okpara Square, on Independence Layout, venue of the Yudala Coalfest Zero Gravity Concert.

The concert is a mega three-city dual concert featuring A-list Nigerian artistes in contemporary hip-hop and rock gospel who use the medium to launch new works. The build up to the concert have continue to thrill entertainment lovers with the unveiling of a star-studded artistes to perform at the gig.

For the Coal City party, the announcement of Osinachi crooner, Humblesmith; rapper Zoro (Ogene Zoro), Nigga Raw (Raw Nwanne) and 10-over-10 singer, Naeto C helped pulled the crowd the more.

Everywhere you turned, the crowd seemed to be in your face; from the cordoned VVIP and VIP sections to the pavilion as well as the entire perimeter of the expansive Square, was filled to the capacity. Even the Yudala trucks parked within the premises had people, who were eager to get unobstructed view of the action perched atop them.

The party began with performances from a plethora of upcoming artistes and moved to a nostalgia-inducing performance from One World, the Nigerian Afro-Rock group of the 70s, who rolled back the years with a masterful delivery of some of their timeless hits, through the indigenous flavour delivered by a local flute player.

One after the other, the artistes took their turns to raise the excitement higher. Mr. Raw (Nigga Raw) led the way and never disappointed his fans as he churned out some of his most popular songs signposted by his latest release — Blessing, which had the crowd singing along.

David Grey took the show a notch higher, delivering with a well-choreographed performance. Then came Naeto C, who adopted the engagement strategy by mingling with the crowd.

The atmosphere in the square was super-charged when it was the time of Osinachi crooner, Humblesmith, who took the stage with his live band and got everyone dancing to pure sounds.

The show reached a fever-pitch with the introduction of Zoro whose dancers serenaded the audience with a gravity-defying dance routine of the hit song, Ogene. Zoro’s performance, which had the crowd asking for more, set the tone for Founder/Vice President, Yudala, Prince Nnamdi Ekeh to deliver a brief vote of thanks and introduce the night’s headline artiste, Flavour.

The concert attracted a number of distinguished guests including the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; his deputy, Cecilia Ezeilo; Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu; Chairman, Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Enugu State, Rita Mbah as well as members of the State House of Assembly.

The party rounded off on, Sunday, November 6, with what was termed as the biggest Rock Gospel Concert ever witnessed in the South East, featuring Frank Edwards, Sammie Okposo, Buchi, Chioma Jesus, Joe Praise, Steve Crown, Chinyere Udoma, Nkay and Gozie Okeke of Akanchawa fame among others.
