All Stars Women Soccer ends in Lagos
• Hans salute sponsors
The final of this year’s All Stars Women Football Carnival will be between Belgium and The Netherlands at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Lagos, this afternoon.
In the semifinals, Belgium defeated Austria 4-3 on penalties, while The Netherlands beat Togo 3-1 via penalties.
The 21st edition of the carnival is organised by the Amalgamation of Nigeria Women Football Club Coaches (ANNWFCC).
The Acting Vice President of the body, Hans Kramer, said the best of women football would be on display at the final of the fiesta.
According to the organisers, the pre-season tournament that featured 270 players had been successful through the support of the China Embassy, PW Nigeria Limited, and Liebher Nigeria.
“Without these sponsors we could not have been able to create friendly competition and excitement for the record 270 players involved.
We’re indeed grateful to them and we look forward to bigger morale and financial support next year,” Kramer said.
Before the final match, the All Stars selected team will face the old stars of the yearly competition.
However, election into the new exco of ANNWFCC holds tomorrow.
