Anthony Joshua takes drug test ahead Klitchsko showdown

Anthony Joshua has taken part in anti-doping testing as preparation for his heavyweight super-fight with Wladimir Klitschko ramps up, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The unbeaten heavyweight is only five weeks away from taking on the former unified world champion in the toughest fight of his career to date.
And as he enters the final weeks of his training camp ahead of the showdown at Wembley Stadium, Joshua posted a photo on his Instagram captioned: ‘Drug testers again’.

The fighter last year revealed he had signed up to a stringent drug testing programme, which required him to inform UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) of his whereabouts at all times.

Heavyweight boxing has been rocked by several high-profile cases of drug cheating in recent months.

Both of WBC world champion, Deontay Wilder’s last two opponents – Andrzej Wawrzyk and Alexander Povetkin – tested positive for a banned substance in the lead up to title fights.

Joshua, meanwhile, looked calm as blood was taken from his arm ahead of his showdown with Klitschko, who will step between the ropes for the first time since he lost his belts to Tyson Fury in November 2015.

It was a rare moment of downtime for the 27-year-old, who has been taking part in a gruelling training camp.

His strength and conditioning coach, Jamie Reynolds, posted a video of the unbeaten heavyweight hard at work ahead of the fight on April 29.

It’s been billed as the fight of the year and the demand to see the fight has led to tickets being offered for sale for more than £35,000, which is about N16.5 million.

The two boxing giants will come face-to-face on April 29 to do battle for the IBF, IBO and WBA Super Heavyweight Championships of the world. And with an astonishing 90,000 tickets sold at Wembley, the likelihood of being in north west London for the fight are hard to come by.

However, certain re-sale sites have some available with one website selling tickets for more than £35,000.

The price, to be exact, is £35,199.12 with the eye-watering fee via Viagogo. The only consolation to any prospective buyer would be that the seat is situated in the VIP inner ringside seating section.

While that seat is the most expensive advertised on the website, Viagogo’s cheapest offering is £100.04.

GetMeIn’s price range is a lot smaller than Viagogo’s with their cheapest ticket selling at £110 and their most expensive available for £990.

Seatwave (£129.99-£1,869.81) and StubHub (£115-£17,926.50) are also re-selling tickets for this month’s showdown.

Total sales have beaten the previous Wembley record set by Carl Froch’s rematch with George Groves in 2014.
Joshua, 13 years younger than his opponent Klitschko, has won all 18 of his professional fights by knockout in a career, which has seen a meteoric rise.

Klitschko boasts a career of 64 wins, 53 of them inside the distance, while losing only four times along the way.
