The management of Synergy Ultimate Football Club of Lagos has made an appeal to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to reconsider his earlier decision to ban the use of public schools’ fields as training ground by clubs.

Coordinator of the Synergy Ultimate FC, Paul Erikewe, said the order has hindered the efforts made by its club and others to unearth gifted players that may be considered for selection in the national age-grade competition in the nearest future.

He said these clubs are suffering untold frustrations ever since they were banned from making use of the schools fields, especially the Olusosan Primary School, Oregun.

According to him, “We are appealing to Governor Ambode to reconsider the future of the youths by allowing club sides to use these fields to train in the absence of adequate training grounds. We know that we have to guide against vandalisation of these properties. Reversing the ban will definitely boost football and indeed sports development in the state and nation generally.”
