With 84 points carded, Team Eko Support Services emerged winner of the maiden Corporate Golf Challenge organised by Concierge Sports at the Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate, Lekki, Lagos.

The team comprised Seni Edu, Tunji Adebayo, Remi Edu and Peter Eben-Spiff.

The 18-hole stableford scoring team event had Team Tata Motors, which featured Sanya Akindele, Winston Strasser, Remi Olukoya and Frank Momoh finish in second place with 78 points.

In third place was Team Smooth FM 98.1, which also shot 78 points but was beaten by Team Tata Motors on countback; the members of the team were Dapo Akande, Tim Ayomike, Leke Akinsanya and Mummuney Dagazau.

Kayode Oguntayo of Concierge Sports described the inaugural tourney as a huge success, adding that beyond the ranking with points, all the teams actually won with their participation.

“I don’t think it would be fair to judge any team by their overall performance at the event. The primary aim was to create the platform for the players to connect, relax and have fun, which I believe was achieved,” he said.

Other teams that competed at the event were Total E&P Deepwater 1 & 2, Mandilas, Old Mutual, SAB Miller (Castle), Stanbic IBTC, Media Reach OMD, First Bank, MacTay Consulting, Sonar Tusk, Seabulk Offshore, Grand Oak, Labash Cocktails, Bridge Clinic, Pathcare, Thebe HMO, and Huawei.

Veuve Clicquot Champagne were the event headline sponsor, while First Bank, Media Reach OMD, Mandilas, Old Mutual, Tata Motors, Huawei were Hole Sponsors.

At the event, Concierge Sports also showed commitment to corporate social responsibility through monetary gift and raising awareness about Benola Cerebral Palsy Initiative, Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, Golden Hearts and Sponsor-A-Child NGOs.

According to Oguntayo, “We are committed to using this medium to assist causes in the society and by participating, each corporate participant has committed by extension.”
