FCT battles Enugu, as Etisalat U-15 School Cup semifinals hold today

Fosla Academy, Abuja will trade tackles with New Layout Secondary School, Enugu, today in the first semifinal of the Etisalat U-15 School Cup, which holds at the Digital Bridge Institute Stadium, Oshodi, Lagos.

The second semifinal will pitch Socrates Secondary School, Ilorin against Oyo State’s Asegun Comprehensive High School, with the winners meeting in tomorrow’s final game slated for the Campos Square, Lagos.

To get to the semifinal, FOSLA Academy capped their impressive run in the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Socrates Secondary School, Ilorin, to top Group A with nine points, while the Kwara team came second.

In Group B, Asegun Comprehensive High School came tops with nine points, followed by New Layout Secondary School, Enugu with six points from three matches.

The national champion of the 2016 edition will receive the Champions Trophy and a cash prize of N2 million educational award, while its players will go home with N50, 000 each.

The second-placed team will go home with N1 million with the players pocketing extra N30, 000 each, while the third-place winner will have the sum of N750, 000 for its efforts with its players receiving N20, 000 each.
