TWO Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs, 3SC and Sharks, are scheduled to face lower league outfits, Kogi United and Supreme Court FC respectively in Wednesday’s Gold Cup semifinals, reports SuperSport.com.

The Gold Cup is a pre-season tournament featuring clubs from the NPFL and Nigeria’s lower leagues as well as football academies. Among teams at this year’s edition are Bolowotan FC, Westerloo FC, FC Ebedei and the Kwara Football Academy (KFA).

The semifinals will take place at the pitches inside the Otunba Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu-Ode and will be held simultaneously from 4.00 p.m local time at Pitches A and B of the Ijebu-Ode stadium.

Ibadan club, 3SC, hold a 100 per cent record going into their semifinal clash with National League club Kogi United, having defeated Supreme Court (1-0), Bolowotan (5-0) and Westerloo (1-0).

The other top flight side remaining in the pre-season tournament, Sharks, notched up six points from Group A of the competition.

The Blue Angels defeated FC Ebedei and KFA, but lost to Kogi United though that did not prevent them from finishing top of the pile.

Supreme Court FC shook off a losing start to 3SC in Group B to defeat Westerloo and Bolowotan 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.

Kogi United garnered six points from Group B after two wins from three matches including a stunning 2-1 win over Sharks.
