Hole 13 winner to get Toyota Hilux at Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo tourney

The stakes continues to get higher at the luxurious Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, venue of the 13th Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial invitational Golf tournament, slated for next month.

At least not less than 200 golfers from across the federation and neighbouring countries are expected to participate in the invitational tournament.
As usual, the Shot Gun System will be adopted for the tournament as it was in the previous three editions.

Last year, players from across the country gathered at the course to vie for honours at the competition, where the organisers dangled a Toyota Fortuna on any one, who wins the Hole-in- one.

This year, the star prize is a Toyota Hilux, which is up for grabs by any player that makes the grade.

The Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament, which has become a regular feature in the diary of the Nigeria golf calendar, has been one of the major events of Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) in the last 12 years. It is aimed at preserving the memory the late Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo lived for.

The tournament will tee off at the newest privately owned 18-hole golf club in the country, which incidentally is owned by Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, on November 11. According to the programme for this year’s event, professionals will tee off by 9.00 a.m. on the opening day, while the amateurs (men and ladies) will take to the endearing topography of the Smokin Hills the following day.
According to the Public Relations and Advert Manager of TNL, Mrs. Bukunola Ogunnusi, the Toyota Hilux would be taken away by the hole 13 winner as the prize for this year’s Hole- in – One.

She said, “Indeed, this year’s Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament promises to leave an enduring golfing experience that will be hard to miss.
It is worth noting that Toyota (Nigeria) Limited in its characteristic manner will be sponsoring the Hole 13 with a Toyota Hilux automatic leather seat as the hole- in- one prize.”

There is another prize for the Amiable Woman of the Tournament, which would be presented at the gala night climaxing the event.

“The prize is symbolic of the amiable nature of the departed woman of substance,” Mrs. Ogunnusi added.
