SUPER Eagles manager, Sunday Oliseh, has reiterated his stance that only players with regular playing time in their various clubs would be invited to the senior national team.

The former Super Eagles skipper, who is expected to release the list of players for the remaining matches of the 2017 Nations Cup and the CHAN qualifiers this month, told The Guardian through the team’s Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, that the country’s performance in the recent qualifier against Tanzania and the friendly against the Republic of Niger, has shown him that he must look for more credible players to beef up the national team.

Ibitoye said the former Juventus of Italy midfielder was working round the clock to raise a formidable squad that would beat other countries in Group G to the automatic Gabon 2017 ticket.

Nigeria is battling with Egypt, Chad and Tanzania for the Nations Cup ticket. “Oliseh has started preparing another Super Eagles team list for the remaining matches of the Nations Cup qualifying series and CHAN.

I can assure you the list will be made public towards the end of this month. “Players like John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Osaze Odemwingie and other quality Nigerian footballers have a chance to make it to the team, but you should also understand that the coach has always insisted that only players with regular playing time would be invited to the Eagles.

If any of these players meet this standard, the coach will surely invite him. He has said that every player will be given equal opportunity to fight for shirt in the team,” Ibitoye said.
