It’s Bayelsa versus Oyo in girls final

Defending champion, St. Jude Government Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa State, has qualified for final in the on-going Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship in Lagos.

Defending champion, St. Jude Government Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa State, has qualified for final in the on-going Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship in Lagos.

The Bayelsa state school yesterday defeated Government Secondary School, Gboko, 41-14 to book a final ticket against Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State. The Ibadan-based school defeated Government Secondary School, Karu, Abuja 33-12.

Earlier yesterday, Government Secondary School, Karu, Abuja defeated Government Secondary School, Numan, Adamawa State, 28-21 also in the girls’ category.

In one of the Boy’s matches played yesterday, St. Augustine’s Seminary Ezzamgbo, Ebonyi State defeated Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina Unity Collage, Bauchi, 34-29.

Speaking with The Guardian, a player of St. Augustine’s Seminary Ezzamgbo, Ebonyi State, Okonkwo Earnest, said he was excited for the victory.

The coordinator of St. Jude Government Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa State, Godwin Adagbo, said he was happy with their performance so far saying: “We have been the defending champion for the past four years, but we won’t relent because our opponent in the final are not push over.”
