A member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Omorogie Ogbeide Ihama, who is representing Oredo Constituency at the National Assembly, has donated a trophy for the maiden Stephen Keshi U17 tournament scheduled to hold in June in Benin City.

According to the organisers of the event, the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers {NANPF}, said at the weekend that the lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Culture and Tourism, has also promised to do more in memory of Nigeria’s longest serving national team captain, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi.

NANPF said in a statement by Comrade Danladi Musa said trophy would be presented to it and the Stephen Keshi Football and Vocational Training Centre during the National Football Seminar scheduled for May 3, 2018 at the Conference Hall, Wesley Hotel, Benin City.

Musa also revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has endorsed the tournament, adding, “Keshi, Henry Nwosu and a lot of the players that you adore today were discovered when they were still at their prime ages and that is what we can use the spirit of the legendary Stephen Keshi to achieve.”
