Former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu has commended the initiator of the LEG Challenge Cup Soccer tournament, saying the competition would help to lower the number of miscreants on the streets, while also giving the youth added leverage to showcase their talents.

The championship organised by Donbalon Sports Commerz is for players between ages 18 and 23. The teams are pooled into four groups and compete in a round-robin format.

Speaking to The Guardian at the mainbowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, venue of the championship, Dosu, whose team, Westerlo FC is also taking part in the tournament, said the soccer fiesta has afforded the youths more opportunities to exploit their talents, which will augur well for them in the future.

“I want to say a big thank you to the organiser for bringing these young ones together once again in another programme.

What the LEG Challenge Cup Soccer tournament has been able to do is to take these youths off the streets of Lagos and because of that I want to say kudos to the brain behind this.

“Taking part in this tournament with my team will give my boys a different stage to show what they can do with the round leather game, which will be good for their career,” he stated.
