Retired former world welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather, is planning another big payday.

They are both champions, but with different plans for the near future. Floyd Mayweather retired last year as the undisputed world welterweight champion, while Tyson Fury just won the heavyweight version of the title.

However, just as Mayweather on Saturday indicated he was open to returning from retirement for another big payday, Fury has said he would quit the ring after his much-anticipated rematch with former champion, Vladmir Klitchsko.

Mayweather defeated Andre Berto last September in what he said at the time would be his final fight, and he had insisted he would remain retired in all interviews, until Saturday when he spoke to Showtime during a match featuring Mayweather Promotions fighter Badou Jack, ESPN reports.

“As of right now, some crazy numbers have been thrown my way–upwards, of course, of nine figures,” he told Showtime. “But I’m truly blessed beyond belief, and I really don’t know what we’re going to do. But right now, I’m really happy being on this side helping our fighters.”

The former welterweight champion also addressed those who like to see him take on undefeated middleweight Gennady Golovkin, with Mayweather pointing out the weight differential makes the matchup impossible.

“How can Floyd Mayweather fight at 160 when I can never even make 154?”
Mayweather reportedly made over $220 million for his much-anticipated fight against Manny Pacquiao last May.

In contrast, Fury has announced he will retire from boxing in July.

The British boxer shocked the world back in November when he dethroned Ukrainian legend Klitschko and his retirement has come as a surprise with future bouts against other boxing heavyweights being lined up in the future.

Fury broke the news after watching his cousin Hughie claim the vacant WBO heavyweight belt.

“I’ve got two and a half stone to get off and I want to get on it,” said the WBA, WBO, IBO, and Ring Magazine heavyweight world champion.
