Forty teams across the country have been drawn for this year’s edition of Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya Youth football tournament.

The tournament, according to the organizers, is slated to kick off today at the MFM Prayer City.

Sponsor of the tournament, the General Overseer of Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries, MFM, Dr. Olukoya, while unfolding plans for the annual tournament, said 40 participating teams are from their branches across the country.

Dr. Olukoya, who was represented at the pre-tournament press briefing by the Regional Overseer and the Chairman Sports Committee, Pastor Raphael Alewi, said the competition is a success story that began in 2007 at the University of Lagos Sports Complex.

According to him, the tourney is aimed to win more souls and reposition the focus of the youths, who need a promising future.

The Dr. Olukoya Cup started about four years ago with teams from Lagos, but the 2008 edition featured teams from across Nigeria, with the Kwara branch of MFM emerging champions.

The winners of the championship will smile home with mouth watering cash rewards, a giant trophy and medals.
