It was different strokes for different folks when the promotion and relegation playoffs in the Nationwide League One (NLO), powered by Sterling Bank kicked-off, yesterday, in four centres across the country.

The Chief Operating Officer of the NLO, Shola Ogunnowo, said the league body appreciates Sterling Bank for supporting the promotion/relegation playoffs, and he remains optimistic that participating teams would acquit themselves.

Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking, Yemi Odubiyi, expressed the bank’s pleasure at partnering with NLO in line with its commitment to growing critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

“Nigerians are passionate about football and we are delighted to connect them to their passion point through the promotion/relegation playoffs in the cities of Onitsha, Ilorin, Makurdi and Jos.
 
“We have Ilorin Stadium, Ilorin, Rojenny Stadium, Anambra, Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi and Jos Township Stadium, Jos as the four centres where the teams gunning for promotion and those struggling to avoid the drop are playing.”

In Ilorin, 36 Lions FC of Lagos takes on Destiny Boy FC for promotion, while Olisa FC battle Green Beret FC. MFM Feeders will meet Valiant FC. Magate FC square up with PSI International FC.

Heartland Feeders FC meet Ibom Youths FC while Rangers Feeders FC will tackle Abia Warriors Feeders FC, Ika Rangers FC will play against George Turnah FC.

Bida Lions will file out against KJ United of Kaduna in one of the games. Rising Stars of Akure will battle Kwara United Feeders FC.
