Nigeria Police beats Racing as Cowrie moves close to 2017  league title

Nigeria Police RFC  at the weekend,  look good to contest favorably for  the South West Rugby league title  as they humilated Racing RFC 57-9 to  move up the  Rugby league table.

With few matches to go Lagos Rugby Club, who has struggled in the Premier division this season are yet to record their first win after losing to Cowrie 0-29. Winger; Christian Ogar opened  scoring followed by another well worked try by fullback; Oladipo Olawale. Both tries came before the half time. The second half was not different as Cowrie managed to score another two tries which was all converted by Alfred Oche.

In other matches of the day, Division two sides; Panthers and Eco II Rfc game ended  34-1 in favour of Panthers.

The next round of South-West Rugby Union League matches will come up on Saturday 9th December  at the NIS pitch, National Stadium, Surulere with Cowries  RFC  on the verge of wining the South West league with  one more win from their remaining two matches against Police and Racing to secure the league title.

Meanwhile, national team Rugby captain Azeez Ladipo who is also a player of Cowrie RFC noted that Cowrie have shacked off the defeat at the Independence seven international championship held recently as the players are poised to win the South West league.
