Nigeria remains 47th in FIFA rankings

Nigeria has remained in the 47th spot of the FIFA men’s ranking for the May edition. The Super Eagles alongside their Group D opponents in the World Cup are unmoved from their previous ranking. Nigeria remains sixth in Africa behind Tunisia (14), Senegal (28), DR Congo(38), Morocco (42) and Egypt (46).

Argentina, favourites in Group D, are 5th in the World, while Croatia and Iceland are 18th and 22nd respectively.

There was no movement in the top 47 with Germany, Brazil and Belgium retaining the first three spots on the ranking.

Kuwait emerged the highest movers, climbing up 16 places to emerge the 160th placed team on the rankings, while Palestine were the worst movers dropping 13 places to 96th.

The next ranking will be published on June 7.
