The Nigerian Olympic Committee has given kudos to Nigerians for turning out enmass to celebrate the Olympic Day in Lagos.

The National Stadium car park, venue of the event, was more than busy, as participants defiled the heavy downpour to be at the arena in order to collect the NOC branded T-shirts for the event.

Excited Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Tunde Popoola, commended Nigerians for trooping out in their number for the run.

Popoola, who represented the president of the NOC, Engr. Habu Gumel, also gave kudos to the Prince Henry Amike-led Nigeria Sports for All Commission (NSFAC) for organising a flawless programme amidst the heavy rainfall and promised to continue to collaborate with the leadership of NSFAC for more meaningfully programmes, as it concerns sports like the Olympic Day and other events.

Amike, while giving the vote of thanks, encouraged Nigerians to be actively involved in sports because it promotes healthy living.

Participants jogged through the National Stadium to Ogunlana Drive and moved to Bode Thomas and came out at Alaska under bridge and back to the National stadium where certificates were freely distributed to participants.
