Odey fires MFM to victory against Plateau United

MFM’s wonderboy, Stephen Odey continued his impressive start to the 2016/2017 NPFL season as he scored his 10th goal of the campaign in his team’s 2-1 defeat of high-riding Plateau United yesterday.
The top-of-the-table clash at the Agege Stadium saw Odey scoring two second half goals in the 47th and 88th (from the box) to help MFM to the three points, which pushed the church team to the second position behind their victims.
Substitute Peter Eneji scored Plateau United’s consolatory goal in the 62nd minute.
Former Sunshine Stars left winger, Prince Aggrey also scored a brace, while Ifeanyi Onuigbo added one goal in Nnewi, where FC IfeanyiUbah beat El Kanemi 3-2.
The unyielding El Kanemi got their two goals off the boots of Lucky Erimaya and Ibrahim Babangida.
In other games played yesterday, Kano Pillars beat Gombe United 2-0, Enyimba held ABS to a 1-1 draw In Ilorin, while Abia Warriors forced Shooting Stars to a 0-0 draw in Ibadan.
Other results saw Lobi playing a 0-0 home draw with Nasarawa, Niger Tornadoes beating visiting Akwa United 1-0, while Wikki Tourists defeated Katsina United 2-1.
