Home-based Godsmark Isife, Muyiwa Oguntola, Fadeyi George, Tokunbo Pedro, Georgia Oboh and Anita Uwadiae are among the budding golfers expected to represent Nigeria at the International Golf Federation (IGF) Junior Masters scheduled for Las Vega, U.S, from July 17 to 21, an official of the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) has revealed.

The full list of players picked for the competition would be released by the NGF after the Sallah celebrations, but the official, who pleaded anonymity, told The Guardian that federation was working round the clock to ensure the Nigerian contingent is adequately prepared for the event.

“Anita Uwadiae and Tokunbo Pedro are among the best young players in the world right now and Isife has shown that he can hold his own against any opposition whenever the opportunity comes,” the source said.

He revealed that the NGF is sourcing for funds to ensure that home-based members of the team participate in the competition, adding that they still believe the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, would come to their aid to ‘make things easier for us.’

Aside the World Junior Championships in Las Vegas, the NGF will also send a team to the World Amateur Championship billed to hold from September 21 to 24 at the Mayakoba El Camaleón Golf Club and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club, Mexico.
