Plateau state governor’s golf club tourney tees off on Tuesday

The Governor of Plateau State’s Golf Cup Tournament will tee-off at the Lamingo Golf Club, on Tuesday. It will end on December 18.

The Governor of Plateau State’s Golf Cup Tournament will tee-off at the Lamingo Golf Club, on Tuesday. It will end on December 18.

Captain of Lamingo Golf Club, Prof. Nuhu Dakum, told journalists in Jos, that they were expecting golfers from different parts of the country to be part of the tournament.

“Last year, we had many of them from Nigeria and even from some West African countries. This time around, we are expecting many golfers to come. We are also expecting amateur players from all over the country on December 17 and 18,” he stated.

In all, Dakum said a total number of 400 golfers would trade swings, pointing out that many of them would come with their guests.

He expressed optimism that the tournament would bring a lot of benefits to the state. “As you know, the governor is a very good golfer, and as a result, he has been supporting golf. This tournament will be held in his honour. And the governor has also realised that there is going to be a lot of economic benefits to the state.Dakum is of the opinion that the tournament will boost tourism in the state.
